How TCG Portal card prices work

TCG Portal is built to make card prices easier to scan. The goal is not to promise a perfect sale price. The goal is to help collectors compare sets, spot valuable singles, and understand why a card may be moving.

What the trackers measure

Tracker pages focus on market prices, set-level strength, top singles, release timing, and easy visual scanning. For each selected set, the page favors cards with available price data and shows compact card grids so collectors can compare many cards quickly.

How set score works

The set score is a quick ranking signal based on the strongest priced cards in a set. That keeps the ranking useful because a set with hundreds of low-value bulk cards should not outrank a smaller set with several high-demand cards.

Why your sale price may differ

Actual sale price depends on condition, photos, seller reputation, shipping, platform fees, grading status, language, and whether buyers are actively chasing that card when you list it.

Price-history roadmap

The current history pages separate each game and link to reliable chart sources. The next step is daily local snapshots so TCG Portal can show original seven-day, thirty-day, and ninety-day movement tables.
