Budget decks

Budget deck building checklist

Spend money where it actually improves the deck, not where the cardboard looks the loudest.

Upgrade consistency first

The cheapest upgrade is often removing cards that do not support the main plan. A focused budget deck can beat an expensive pile that argues with itself.

Before buying a card

  • Ask what problem the card solves.
  • Check if a lower-cost version does the same job.
  • Buy playsets only after testing proxies or digital lists.
  • Track cards that rotate, get banned, or may be reprinted.
